Hi, I bought a new Dell Inspiron with a Bios Win 8 product key. the problem is that for some reason, this key is blocked. Dell gave me a new key which works but every 15 mins or so, the msg to activate windows comes up. When I checked in system, I can see that Windows somehow goes back to the blocked bios key. I have to activate it every 15 mins!! How can I solve this? Can I replace the blocked bios key with the new key I have which works? thanks Nick

Never be tempted to download a restore disk from a torrent site or from Usenet. Most of these are fake restore disks and will contain files contaminated by a Trojan or virus. We will supply you a perfect genuine and legal restore disk, supplied by a genuine Microsoft authorized digital partner or directly from the OEM manufacturer.
If you have just installed a fresh Windows 10 Home or Pro or you need to download a new fresh Windows 10 and you need a genuine Windows 10 Pro product key then this is exactly what you are looking for.
I am sure this might work for other people facing the same problem. This particularly worked in my case, since my Windows 8.1 Laptop was old and there could be some driver compatibility issues while Microsoft tries to download the latest Windows Updates before the Windows 10 installation/up-gradation begins.
Hello, I am an bit of an amateur but can be semi technical with the right instructions. I have and Acer Inspire R7 that is Windows 8.1. I just replaced hd with ssd and upgraded memory as well. It was very simple. I then used my external hard drive that has my recovery on it. It all loaded fine and seemed to work well. I had upgraded to windows 10 prior with no problem but laptop was a bit slow so got another laptop which I am iffy about. So decided to update this old acer R7 one I like. It had been reformatted. But recovery went well on ssd and windows 8.1 seemed fine. Now I am trying to figure out how to get windows 10 free back on my laptop. I have found Create Windows 10 Installation Media - has a download tool which I used. All seemed to go very well until it got to the 73% install and got a box that said Windows 10 installation has failed. Never asked me if I wanted to update anything, it just went straight to Window 10 installation. I do have my updates set to let me pick what is to be updated. I have tried a couple fixes, restarts, etc... only with the exact same outcome. 4 x I have tried. I see your instructions above but they are just a little hard for me to understand. Is there a way you can do a more specific with step by step instructions? I am so frustrated as even this new laptop had no issue with windows 10 or 11 upgrade. I can't afford to have someone look at it. But I will keep plugging away as I feel I can figure it out with the right steps. I am wondering if the new ssd could have anything to do with it? Appreciate any help if you can.
follow prompts until two choices: "update this pc" and something along the lines of downloading onto a CD or USB drive. NOTE: I did not use a CD drive or USB to update my computer. However, this is the only way to bring up the options noted in the solved post.
So, the part where I say "created a desktop folder for the ISO file," is step 2. Once that file is downloaded on your desktop, you can double click it to open it. In the file folder after you open it, double click the line (i forget what it is named) but it will be a "disk image file". This is the TYPE of file, like how a word document is saved as .doc or a pdf as .pdf. Then, i dont remember what the prompts were, but i clicked "yes" and steps 3 and 4 are self explanatory (you will see the appropriate options appear as you move along). reply if you figured it out or not. I'm new the computer stuff, so I'd like to know if I was helpful or not.
Hey Kushik, I didn't get the 3. step. Like, where can I find the 'change on how Windows Setup downloads updates' button ? I can't find it anywhere on the Install Win 10 page. Did you mean in the MediaCreation tool's interface ?
I tried to follow these steps, but on the Install Windows 10 page, there is no option for "Change on how Windows Setup downloads updates". The only option I have throughout the process is in earlier steps, there is an option asking what I want to keep, personal files and apps, personal files only, or nothing. When running setup.exe from the ISO, the process looks the same as running the Media Creation Tool directly.
Like some of the other respondents to this, I have created an account to say Thank You!! My first attempt to create an ISO was not entirely successful, as after downloading to OneDrive, when I tried to use setup.exe got a msg saying it was corrupted or had other issue. However, I persisted, and put the download on a flash drive. Was able to run setup.exe as an administrator, followed your instructions, and 3 hrs later it was finally all done. As JAPierce says - we all owe you a beer!!! Thank you so much!!! You ARE a hero.
Try perform a Clean Boot , take a look at: -us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd And see if you are able to run the installation? Have you checked for driver's update from your device's manufacturer website? Some drivers might not be available in the Windows Update.
1. Connect the SSD to your PC via external disk bay or USB-to-SATA cable. Click the download button below to install and launch AOMEI Backuper Professional. Then, click Clone > Disk Clone

Even though this is a good way to combat piracy, and in most cases, Windows 8/8.1 setup automatically reads the product key while reinstalling the operating system, PC users who need the product key to download Windows ISO from Microsoft to reinstall the OS or for other reasons need to recover the product key from the firmware first.
Once your drivers have been found, the website will usually have an option to filter the operating system. Click in the list box, select Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 depending on which version you decide to downgrade. Proceed to download all the critical drivers such as Chipset, Video, Network, Audio, and Storage. After downloading, save them to a thumb drive until you are ready to install them.
After installing Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, proceed to install the appropriate drivers you had downloaded in advance. Start off with the most critical which include; Chipset, Video, and Network. Your Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 installations will likely be out of date, so immediately check Windows Update for the latest updates then install them. Also, ensure your Antivirus utility is updated. Windows 8.1 includes a built-in antivirus called Windows Defender. Windows 7 users can download Windows Defender or another free third-party Antivirus utility.

I have a HP Windows 10 machine. I have a install copy of window 7. When I try to install windows 7 I cannot get it to load the usb drivers so I cannot get my mouse and keyboard to function. But my windows 10 disk will. How do I over come this problem?
I am an NGO based in the US but all work is done in Tanzania, Africa. We bought 4 new dell computers with Windows 10 unknowingly. I was not apart of the procurement process. The computers are now here with me and we want to take them to windows 7. Windows 10 in our opinion is garbage. Microsoft needs to stop trying to be Apple and leave Apps alone. If we want apps we will go with Apple products.

my computer automatically updated itself to windows 10 but I wanna revert back to windows 8.1 and I ran out of the one month trial so it stays permanent. Is this method applicable on windows 10 on retrieving back my win 8 key?
